I hate Overwatch
Yes I have shorts on #overwatch #ow2 #gamergirl #alternative #quickplay
Lately, I’ve been feeling a real shift in how much I enjoy Overwatch 2, particularly when it comes to quickplay. What used to be my go-to for unwinding after a long day now often leaves me feeling more stressed than relaxed. I truly understand those search queries asking 'overwatch isn't fun anymore' and 'why is overwatch 2 so hated,' because I'm right there with you. My last quickplay match was a perfect example of why I'm feeling this way. I just wanted to jump in for a few casual games, but it quickly turned into a nightmare. We had a player, who sounded like a young kid, literally screaming into their mic about everything – from our team's picks to their own mistakes. It was incredibly distracting and just sucked all the fun out of the game. And, of course, there was the enemy Sombra. It feels like every other game, you're constantly being hacked and disrupted, making it impossible to even enjoy playing your favorite heroes. It’s hard to relax when you're constantly dealing with that kind of toxicity and frustration. This isn't an isolated incident either. It seems like the quickplay experience has really deteriorated for a lot of players. There's a constant feeling of imbalance, where one team gets steamrolled, or you're stuck with players who refuse to cooperate. It’s a far cry from the team-based fun that Overwatch was once known for. Many players, myself included, feel that the shift to 5v5, while intended to streamline gameplay, has sometimes exacerbated these issues, making individual mistakes feel more impactful and the overall experience more punishing. Beyond the in-game mechanics, there's also a broader sentiment among the community about Overwatch 2. People often ask 'why is overwatch 2 so hated,' and I think it boils down to several factors. The controversial monetization model, with high prices for cosmetics and a battle pass that feels grindy, has certainly rubbed many the wrong way. Then there are the hero reworks and balance changes that often feel like they cater to a specific playstyle, leaving others in the dust. It's a shame because the core gameplay is still brilliant, but these other elements really detract from the overall experience. I keep hoping for a return to what made the original Overwatch so special – a game where you could hop into quickplay, have some laughs, and enjoy the unique hero abilities without feeling constantly overwhelmed by a toxic environment or unfair matches. Until then, I guess I'll keep trying to find those rare moments of joy amidst the chaos. What are your biggest frustrations with OW2 quickplay right now? I'd love to hear if I'm not alone in feeling this way!
