LIFE IN THE MILITARY

Who would have thought I would’ve became a soldier.. I’ve been gone for a minute but I’m back ! Look. One of the most rewarding experience I’ve ever done in my lifetime so far. Overcoming some obstacles like my first time shooting a weapon, I was scared for my life lol until It became my handbag. Bringing it everywhere, cleaning it everyday after shooting even sleeping with it lol literally. I enjoyed every bit of my day to day life being in the military. Walking 6 hours straight made me feel resilient, after my last ruck march I felt so empowered that I was able to do that with a 40 pound ruck bag on my back. I met some of the most amazing people from almost every state, so many different cultures ..I even started learning some Spanish. So many different stories on why people joined the military and it’s so eye opening and humbling… For me I’m always intrigued to know more, to see more, traveling the world all while being stable. Ofc I’m on my way to start college again with no expenses, grateful for the opportunities the military have gave me. Now I’m packing and heading to live in HAWAII in a week ! 🏝️

I have no expectations…lol a little nervous but also excited to learn a new culture and being surrounded by the beaches !

Looking back, I can vividly recall the initial struggle with weapon training. That first time holding a rifle, it felt heavy and foreign, and yes, a little terrifying! But with each session, it transformed from a frightening object into an extension of my capabilities. It wasn't just about learning to shoot; it was about discipline, focus, and overcoming that initial fear. This journey truly built a sense of 'Army Pride' within me. Beyond the physical training, the real magic happened in the connections I made. Imagine meeting people from every corner of the country, each with their own incredible story. One friend, a brilliant woman with a background as diverse as her name, perhaps like an 'Osorio' or a 'Lindo,' taught me so much about resilience and different perspectives. We shared laughs, tears, and endless support during those grueling ruck marches. There’s something incredibly empowering about walking for hours with a 40-pound pack, knowing the person beside you is just as determined. Those moments forged bonds that feel like family. We often reminded each other, 'WOMEN in Military LEAD YOUR WAY,' and it truly felt like we were. The military also opened doors I never dreamed of. The chance to travel, even within the US, allowed me to see so much more than I ever would have. And the educational benefits? Absolutely life-changing. Knowing I can pursue higher education without the burden of tuition fees is a massive relief and a huge motivator for my future. It's not just about a job; it's about building a foundation for a stable and fulfilling life. Now, as I pack my bags for Hawaii, I can't help but reflect on how much I've grown. This isn't just a move; it's a transition into a new phase that the military helped shape. The discipline, the problem-solving skills, and the sheer mental fortitude I developed are coming with me. I'm a little nervous, sure, about embracing a new culture and navigating civilian life in a tropical paradise. But the excitement far outweighs the apprehension. It’s a testament to how far I’ve come from that scared recruit. I’m ready to dive into the beaches, learn new traditions, and continue building on the incredible foundation the military has given me. It's truly a new start, and I'm looking forward to sharing more of this adventure!
