Getting asked "Are you pregnant" when you're fat.

Don't you hate it when you're asked if you're pregnant or how far long are you?? I literally got asked this like 3 days ago. My baby is just barely 8 months old. I know I could workout more. But this is still a little insulting and slightly embarrassing. I can't help it, well I can, but still, I have a round belly. It happens randomly. Just not enough to make me get snatched apparently. Lol. #GirlTalk #lemon8challenge

... Read moreMany people who have a rounder belly or carry weight differently often face insensitive questions like "Are you pregnant?" even when they are not. This can be especially difficult for new mothers, like those who have given birth recently, as their bodies are still healing and changing. Society tends to hold unrealistic expectations about how postpartum bodies should look, which adds to the pressure and embarrassment when faced with such questions. It's important to recognize that body shapes and sizes vary greatly, and weight gain or a rounded belly can result from many factors beyond pregnancy—including lifestyle, genetics, or simply natural body composition. Instead of jumping to conclusions, it’s more respectful and supportive to refrain from personal comments about someone’s body. For those who experience this frequently, responding with humor, setting a polite boundary, or simply ignoring the question can help deflect the awkwardness. You can also use these moments as opportunities to raise awareness about body positivity and the challenges faced by postpartum women. Ultimately, the key is cultivating kindness and understanding, both toward ourselves and others. Remember that everyone’s body tells a unique story, and it’s never appropriate to comment on someone’s appearance in a way that might make them uncomfortable or self-conscious.

It happened to my mom. You look great though. Don’t feel bad you literally had a baby
