Kids Bible Study - Holy Week Edition: Palm Sunday 🪴

One of the most interesting parts to share with children is how Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem riding on a donkey. This is symbolic because donkeys were seen as humble animals, and Jesus' choice to arrive this way shows his humility and peace-loving nature, rather than coming as a conquering king on a horse. Kids often find it amusing and memorable to imagine Jesus riding a donkey! Another powerful visual from Palm Sunday is the crowd spreading their coats on the ground and waving palm branches. These actions were ways to honor Jesus and recognize him as a king, which is why people shouted “Hosanna,” meaning “save us.” Teaching about these customs helps children understand how Jesus was welcomed and celebrated.
