Here’s an easy coconut agua fresca recipe for you!
Ingredients:
- 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
- 12 oz can evaporated milk
- (2) 13.5 oz cans of coconut milk
- 2 cups water

Pour the sweetened condensed milk into a pitcher. Next slowly stir in the evaporated milk. Stir well to make sure the condensed milk is evenly combined with the evaporated milk. Then stir in the coconut milk and water. Serve over lots of ice and enjoy!
Canned coconut milk can be a little chunky so you can always blend the coconut milk before you add it to the pitcher.

As someone who absolutely loves refreshing drinks, especially when the weather heats up, this creamy coconut agua fresca recipe has become a true staple in my kitchen! It’s more than just a drink; it's a little taste of paradise that brings a smile to my face every time I make it. Agua fresca literally means “fresh water” in Spanish, and these delightful beverages are a huge part of Mexican culture, often found in street stalls and homes alike. While many are made with fresh fruits, this coconut version offers a uniquely rich and satisfying experience. What I adore most about this particular agua de coco recipe is its incredible simplicity and the perfectly balanced flavor. Using canned ingredients like sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and coconut milk (as highlighted in the images!), means you always have everything on hand for a spontaneous batch. These canned milks are the secret to that wonderfully creamy white texture you see in the pictures – it’s not just coconut water, but a luxurious, milky concoction that feels incredibly indulgent. I’ve found that using good quality canned coconut milk makes all the difference; sometimes, if it's a bit chunky, a quick blend before mixing ensures a super smooth finish. If you're looking to explore a bit, this recipe is a fantastic base for variations. For example, if you've ever searched for a "coconut lime agua fresca" or a "coconut and lime drink," you could easily add a squeeze of fresh lime juice to this recipe. The bright citrus cut through the sweetness beautifully, offering another layer of refreshment. You could also blend in some fresh fruit like pineapple or mango for a tropical twist, taking inspiration from other popular Mexican drinks. Some people even add a dash of vanilla extract for extra warmth. When it comes to serving, while it’s absolutely perfect over a mountain of ice, don't stop there! I love garnishing my glass jar of coconut agua fresca with a sprinkle of toasted coconut flakes or a fresh lime wheel – it makes it feel extra special. And for storage, any leftovers (if there are any!) keep wonderfully in a sealed glass jar in the refrigerator for about 2-3 days. It's truly a versatile and delightful beverage that’s incredibly easy to master. Give it a try, and I bet it’ll become one of your go-to refreshing drinks too!

Get rid of the water, add some cream of coconut, vanilla, cinnamon, (rum if wanted) and you’ve got yourself some Puerto Rican coquito we drink during the holidays!
