Pausing halfway through the day and halfway through my thoughts.
May was a lot — quiet wins, mental resets, deep lessons, and small joys I almost missed. So today, I’m not rushing into June. I’m closing this chapter slowly, intentionally.
Let this be your reminder:
🌿 Your healing doesn’t have a deadline.
🌿 Romanticize the in-between.
🌿 You’re allowed to change your mind, your mood, and your pace.
Here’s to more softness in June — in routines, in thoughts, and in how we speak to ourselves.

... Read moreI've realized how truly transformative a midday reset can be, especially when days feels overwhelming. It's not just about taking a break; it's about intentionally carving out a moment to reconnect with yourself and set the tone for the rest of your afternoon. For me, it has become a non-negotiable ritual that helps me shift from feeling rushed to embracing a more 'slow and soft' pace.
My personal midday reset often begins with creating a serene atmosphere, much like the one captured in my favorite pictures – a peaceful spot where I can truly disconnect. I always start with a calming beverage. An iced matcha latte, like the one I often prepare, is my absolute favorite; its gentle caffeine lift provides focus without the jitters, perfectly complementing the soft mood I'm aiming for. Sometimes, it's just a warm cup of herbal tea.
Then, I turn to my journal. Pausing to write down thoughts, feelings, or even just three things I’m grateful for, helps me process the morning and reset my mental space. It's incredible how much clarity an open journal can bring when your mind feels cluttered. This practice really embodies the idea of 'pausing halfway through my thoughts' and helps me acknowledge any 'deep lessons' or 'quiet wins' from the first half of the day.
I also love incorporating sensory elements. Holding a smooth crystal, like rose quartz or amethyst, can be incredibly grounding. It's a small act, but it helps anchor me in the present moment. I might even take off my gold rings and put them back on, making it a conscious ritual of restarting. Often, I'll put my phone away or simply use it to play some gentle, vintage-sweet music, like 'Until I Found You.' This helps me avoid falling down a social media rabbit hole and instead, really lean into the quiet.
If possible, I step outside for a few minutes. Even just sitting on a porch with my sunglasses on, feeling the sun, can do wonders. It reminds me to 'romanticize the in-between' moments of life. A quick gentle stretch or simply taking a few deep breaths outdoors re-energizes my body and mind. Sometimes, just pulling my hair back with a soft scrunchie feels like a small act of self-care before diving back into whatever comes next.
This ritual isn't about productivity; it's about self-compassion and recognizing that 'your healing doesn’t have a deadline.' It's about remembering that 'you’re allowed to change your mind, your mood, and your pace.' Embracing these soft intentional pauses allows me to carry a sense of calm and presence into the latter half of my day, making me feel more centered and less overwhelmed. I truly believe that cultivating these small moments of softness makes a huge difference in overall well-being. Here's to more intentional midday resets for all of us!
