Dollar tree candy cane.
Hey everyone! I wanted to share one of my absolute favorite budget-friendly holiday hacks: Candy Cane DIY with items from Dollar Tree! Seriously, if you haven't checked out their selection of plastic candy canes, especially the mini ones, you're missing out on some incredible crafting potential. I always make a point to swing by Dollar Tree as soon as their holiday decor starts rolling out. You can often find a fantastic assortment of plastic candy canes Dollar Tree has to offer, from traditional red and white to glittery or multi-colored options. Don't just look in the main holiday aisle; sometimes they're tucked away with the craft supplies or near the checkout. I've even seen them in bags of mixed mini ornaments. It pays to hunt around a bit! Why plastic, you ask? Well, for DIY and crafting, they're a dream! Unlike real candy canes, these plastic candy canes are unbreakable, lightweight, and incredibly easy to work with. No sticky mess, no worries about them melting, and they last year after year. Plus, the price point at Dollar Tree makes them unbeatable for bulk projects. I've experimented with so many Dollar Tree candy cane craft ideas, and I wanted to share a few of my go-to's. One super simple project is creating mini candy cane ornaments. Just grab two plastic candy canes, hook them together at the curved ends to form a heart or a single loop, and secure them with a dab of hot glue. You can add a small bow, some glitter, or even a tiny jingle bell in the middle. Hang them on your tree or use them as festive gift toppers! Another fantastic idea is a mini candy cane Dollar Tree garland. This is perfect for draping over a mantel, along a staircase, or even around a small tabletop tree. All you need is some twine or ribbon and your collection of mini plastic candy canes. You can either hot glue them onto the twine at intervals or, if they have small holes (some do!), string them directly. For a fuller look, I sometimes glue two together side-by-side before attaching them to the garland. If you're feeling a bit more ambitious, a Dollar Tree candy cane wreath is surprisingly easy and looks fantastic. Grab a foam wreath form from Dollar Tree (they usually have them!), and start hot gluing your plastic candy canes all over it. You can arrange them in a swirling pattern, pointing all in one direction, or mix it up. Fill in any gaps with mini ornaments, glitter, or small bows. It looks much more expensive than it is! I've also used these for festive centerpieces. Fill a clear vase or jar with mini candy canes Dollar Tree style, and maybe add some faux snow or glitter. You can stick a battery-operated candle in the middle or even some faux flowers. For a fun twist, attach them to the rim of a serving dish for a holiday party. My top tip for any Candy Cane DIY project is to use a good quality hot glue gun. It makes assembly quick and secure. And don't be afraid to get creative! These little plastic treasures are so versatile. I love that I can get so many for just a few dollars and transform them into beautiful, festive decorations for my home. It's such a rewarding way to add a personal touch to your holiday decor without breaking the bank. Happy crafting!
