Inner Child healing.
Hi, I just wanted to share some of my notes on inner child work. It was the main thing that helped me overcome a lot of my trauma and patterns I found myself in. #healinginpages #inner child #healingjunkie #healingthroughwriting #healingnotes
Inner child healing is a transformative journey that helped me deeply understand the roots of my emotional struggles and guided me to reclaim a sense of joy and creativity I had long forgotten. One of the most powerful practices I embraced was writing letters to my inner child — it allowed me to speak kindly to the vulnerable part of myself that had been hurt but was still longing to be heard and loved. I also found that engaging in activities reminiscent of my childhood, like baking something sweet, doodling, or dancing to happy music, brought a revitalizing sense of joy and creativity back into my life. These playful exercises serve not only to reconnect with our youthful spirit but also to soothe the emotional wounds stored deep within us. Through practicing visualization, I consciously reached out to my inner child, imagining a safe and innocent version of myself. This mental image helped me practice self-compassion and patience as I acknowledged those unresolved feelings and reassured my inner child that they were safe and deeply loved. This gentle self-reparenting was crucial to my healing. Acknowledging wounds such as abandonment, neglect, or abuse, I learned to validate my feelings without judgment. Recognizing adult triggers that stemmed from past trauma helped me better understand why I sometimes reacted intensely to everyday situations. By sitting with these emotions and allowing myself to feel them in a safe way, I reclaimed control over my emotional responses. The practice of wound mapping also helped me identify patterns like codependency or fear of abandonment. Understanding these patterns empowered me to break free from toxic relational cycles and choose healthier, self-loving behaviors. Importantly, I learned to establish boundaries and ask for what I need without guilt. Healing is not linear — it requires patience, self-compassion, and often seeking support from trusted individuals or therapists. But by committing to this inner child work, I experienced a profound shift. I not only released shame and self-blame connected to my past but also rediscovered a joyous, creative, and authentic self that had been buried under layers of pain. If you’re starting this work, be gentle with yourself. Explore simple activities that bring joy, write to your inner child with love, and accept all emotions as valid. Over time, you’ll find the wounds soften, your self-worth grows, and your life is infused with greater compassion and peace.
