You do not need to see the whole staircase. Just take the next step.
Faith has never been about having it all figured out. It has never been about a clear view of the road ahead or a guarantee that it will be easy.
Faith is saying yes to God even when you cannot see where He is taking you. It is moving when everything in you wants to wait for more clarity. More confirmation. More certainty.
But God rarely shows us the whole picture at once. He shows us the next step and asks us to trust Him with the rest.
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)
So what step have you been putting off? What has God been nudging you toward that fear has been talking you out of?
Take the step. He is already on the staircase waiting for you.

Faith is often misunderstood as having a clear plan or knowing every detail ahead of time. From my experience, faith is more about trust and action—taking that next step even when you can't see the full journey. I've realized that waiting for full clarity can lead to missed opportunities and unnecessary anxiety. Instead, leaning into faith means acknowledging uncertainty but moving forward with the assurance that you are not alone. For example, when faced with major life decisions, I try to remind myself of Hebrews 11:1: “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” This verse encourages me to embrace the unknown with a hopeful heart. I also keep Proverbs 16:9 close in mind, which says, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” These words remind me to plan but trust God with the outcome. Taking the next step in faith doesn't mean reckless action. It's about listening for that nudge—sometimes subtle, sometimes firm—that encourages you forward. Fear is natural, but it shouldn't paralyze you. Often, the first step leads to greater clarity and confidence as the path unfolds. Like climbing a staircase in the dark, you take one step at a time, trusting that God is lighting the way ahead. In difficult moments, I find that surrounding myself with encouraging scriptures and leaning on prayer helps strengthen my faith. Psalms 37:23 inspired me during uncertain seasons: “The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him.” Knowing that God is steadying my steps gives me peace and courage to keep moving. If you have been hesitant to move forward in faith, remember you don’t have to see the whole staircase. Just take your next step. God is already waiting on the next step and has got every step after it. Faith Friday can be your reminder to let go of fear, trust God's timing, and take that step of faith today.
