THANKFUL THURSDAY 🙌🏾
Thank God for the hard seasons!
They were making your roots grow deeper the whole time.
Nobody thanks God for the drought. Nobody celebrates the storm. Nobody looks at the painful season and says thank you while they are still in it.
But looking back?
That dry season taught you to seek Him when nothing else satisfied. That storm taught you that He was your only stable ground. That painful chapter stripped away everything surface level and forced your roots to go somewhere deeper than they had ever been before.
Trees do not grow deep roots in comfortable conditions. They grow deep roots when the soil is dry and they have to push further down to find water. When the storms come and they have to hold on harder. When the conditions are difficult and survival requires going deeper than before.
That is exactly what God was doing in your hard seasons.
He was not punishing you. He was not ignoring you. He was growing something in you that comfortable seasons never could. He was building a root system that would hold you through everything still to come.
And now here you are. Still standing. Still rooted. Still growing.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2-4 (NIV)
Mature and complete. That is what the hard seasons were producing in you all along.
🌻 Today thank God for every difficult season. Every dry place. Every storm. They were not breaking you. They were rooting you.
