THANKFUL THURSDAY 🦋
You have something to be thankful for. Even if you cannot see it right now.
Sometimes the enemy is subtle. He does not just steal your blessings. He steals your ability to notice them. He whispers that things could be better. That other people have more. That what God gave you is not enough.
And slowly you start to believe that gratitude is for people whose lives look different from yours.
But I need you to hear this today.
If you woke up this morning that is a gift. If you have breath in your lungs that is a gift. If you made it through what tried to take you out that is a gift.
Gratitude is not pretending everything is perfect. Gratitude is recognizing that God was present in all of it.
A complainer says look at what I do not have. A thankful heart says look at what God kept for me.
Same circumstances. Different posture.
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV)
Your thankfulness is an act of warfare. Do not let the enemy convince you there is nothing to praise Him for. 🙏🏾
🌿 He woke you up. He kept you. He is still working. That is enough to give Him glory today.
📖 For More Encouragement:
“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24 (NIV)
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights.” James 1:17 (NIV)
“I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart.” Psalm 9:1 (ESV)

In my personal journey, I've come to see gratitude not just as a feel-good practice, but as a deliberate posture of the heart that can transform struggles into sources of strength. Often, life’s trials can cloud our vision, making it easy to overlook the subtle gifts around us, like the morning breath or the strength to face another day. This echoes the idea that gratitude is not about ignoring problems but acknowledging God’s presence and grace through every circumstance. One practice that has helped me is starting each day with a moment of silent thanks—even before engaging in daily tasks. It’s a small ritual that shifts focus from scarcity to sufficiency. The phrase “Your thankfulness is an act of warfare” truly resonates because it frames gratitude as resistance against negative self-talk and despair. It’s a form of spiritual armor that protects and empowers us. Moreover, the biblical references shared, such as 1 Thessalonians 5:18 and Psalm 118:24, remind us that gratitude aligns us with a divine purpose. Through gratefulness, we celebrate not just what we have but also what God continues to work in us and through us. This has encouraged me during times when my circumstances felt stagnant, reinforcing the truth that every moment is a gift. If you’re struggling to find things to be thankful for, try reflecting on the little victories—waking up, breathing, or even small acts of kindness received. Sharing these moments with a community or through journaling can enhance your awareness and appreciation. Thankful Thursday is more than a hashtag; it’s a movement toward mindful gratitude that uplifts your spirit and fortifies your faith. By adopting this perspective, you rewrite your story from one of lack to one of abundance, affirming that God is still working, and that’s enough reason to give Him glory today.
