📖 FAITH FRIDAY

Some days my faith feels strong and steady. Other days I am honest enough to admit that I am trying to believe while battling doubt at the same time. And the beautiful part is this. God is not intimidated by that. He does not need me to pretend. He does not need me to perform. He does not need me to fake strength I do not have.

God can work with real faith, even if it is small, shaky, or still growing.

There is a moment in Scripture where a father brings his child to Jesus and says something that sounds like many of our prayers.

“Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief.”

Mark 9:24

He did not hide his struggle.

He did not dress it up.

He did not pretend he was stronger than he was.

He brought his belief and his unbelief to Jesus, and Jesus honored both.

That is the kind of faith God responds to.

Not perfect faith.

Not polished faith.

Not Instagram ready faith.

Honest faith.

Faith that says, God I trust You, but I am still scared.

Faith that says, I know You can, but I am struggling to see how.

Faith that says, I am trying. Help me where I am weak.

Here is the good news for this Faith Friday.

God meets you in the gap between what you believe and what you are still learning to believe.

He strengthens what is trembling.

He grows what is small.

He breathes on what feels fragile.

He honors the faith you do have and helps with the faith you do not.

You do not have to fake it.

You do not have to force it.

You do not have to pretend you are further along than you are.

Just bring it to Him.

🌿 Real faith is not the absence of doubt. It is the decision to trust God with the parts of you that doubt.

I have found that trying to pretend our faith is unwavering only creates pressure and disconnects us from the true spiritual growth process. Instead, acknowledging moments of doubt, much like the father in Mark 9:24 who said, "Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief," opens a powerful path toward deeper trust. In times when I felt my faith was 'small or shaky,' I reminded myself that God works with what we have—not what we don't. The assurance that God honors honest, imperfect faith was deeply comforting. It encouraged me to stop hiding my struggles and to bring them before Him in prayer. This act of vulnerability made God’s presence feel closer and more real. Scriptures like Isaiah 41:10 and Psalm 46:1 became anchors during doubtful moments. They reminded me not only of God’s power but also His willingness to strengthen me where I felt weakest. These verses are not just ancient words; they carry living hope that applies in everyday challenges, no matter how small our trust may seem. I also learned that faith isn't just a static belief but a dynamic decision to trust God despite fears and questions. When anxiety arises, turning to Philippians 4:6-7 helps me exchange worry for peace through prayer and thanksgiving. It creates an ongoing dialogue with God, acknowledging my doubts while choosing to lean into His sustaining grace. Incorporating these truths into daily life transforms faith from an abstract idea into an active relationship. It means accepting that faith includes its ups and downs and that God delights in meeting us where we are—not where we think we should be. So for anyone struggling with doubt, know that you don’t have to fake or force faith. Bring your real self to God, with all your questions and fears. Trust that He will nurture your faith, help it grow, and turn your honest efforts into a beautiful spiritual journey. Faith Friday becomes not just a day of reflection but a reminder that God’s grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in weakness.
