✨ SOULFUL SUNDAY ✨
Sometimes God shows up in ways we do not expect. And we almost miss Him.
Two disciples were walking away from Jerusalem heartbroken and confused. Everything they had hoped for felt like it had fallen apart. And as they walked a stranger joined them on the road.
They did not recognize Him.
They poured out their grief to this stranger. Told Him everything that had happened. How they had hoped Jesus was the one. How the crucifixion had shattered everything.
And the whole time they were talking to Jesus Himself.
That is the Road to Emmaus. And it is more relevant today than we realize.
Because sometimes we are so focused on what we expected God to do that we completely miss what He is actually doing. We are looking for Him in the dramatic and the obvious while He is quietly walking right beside us in the ordinary.
In the conversation that came at the right time. In the door that closed so a better one could open. In the stranger who said exactly what you needed to hear. In the moment of stillness where peace showed up unexpectedly.
That was God. Right there. On your road.
“Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him.” Luke 24:31 (NIV)
Their eyes were opened. That is my prayer for you this week. That God opens your eyes to see where He has already been showing up in your life.
🌿 This week pay attention. God is already on your road. You may just need eyes to recognize Him.
📖 For More Encouragement:
“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?” Psalm 139:7 (NIV)
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20 (NIV)
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)
