TESTIMONY TUESDAY 🙌🏾
I had to learn to stop apologizing for who God made me.
For a long time I carried this quiet belief that who I was needed to be adjusted before I could really be used. Too much in some places. Not enough in others. I was always measuring myself against a version of me that did not exist yet.
I kept thinking; when I am further along, then I will walk confidently. When I have more to show, then I will speak boldly. When I finally arrive, then I will celebrate.
But God had to show me something.
He does not call the polished. He calls the willing. He does not wait for you to have it all together before He moves through you. He moves through the cracks.
Through the unfinished places. Through the exact version of you that you have been trying to fix.
I remember the moment something shifted. I stopped asking God to change who I was and started asking Him to show me who He made me to be. That is a different prayer. One closes a door. The other opens one.
And what He showed me was not a stranger. It was me. The real me. The one He had been trying to get me to embrace all along.
I am still growing. Still becoming. But I am no longer at war with myself. And that peace, my peace… that is the testimony.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 (NIV)
Even the parts of your story you have not understood yet. He was working there too.
📖 For yourself today. Not who you were. Not who you are becoming. Who you are right now. God has always seen her clearly.
📖 For More Encouragement:
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6 (NIV)
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 (NIV)

Sharing this testimony resonates deeply with me because it highlights a journey many of us experience: struggling with our self-worth and waiting for the "right moment" to fully embrace who we are. I remember a time in my own life when I constantly felt not enough or too much in different areas. Like the author describes, I was always comparing myself to an ideal version of myself I thought I needed to become before I could truly thrive or feel confident. What truly helped me was shifting my focus from trying to fix myself to seeking to understand the unique person God created me to be. This change in mindset felt like a door opening rather than one closing. It allowed me to accept my imperfections and trust that God works through all our "unfinished places" and cracks. This has brought me incredible peace, just like the testimony shares. In my experience, leaning into scriptures like Romans 8:28 and Philippians 1:6 helped me see that God is continually working in all areas of our lives, even those we may not yet understand. Trusting in God's timing and purpose releases the pressure to be perfect right now and invites us to be present with who we are at this moment. If you’re reading this and feeling weighed down by self-judgment or comparison, know that your worth isn’t based on having it all together. Rather, it’s rooted in the person God made you to be. Embrace your journey, including the growing, the becoming, and the healing. From personal experience, this self-acceptance opens the way for God’s transformative work in your life and brings a peace that surpasses understanding. Remember, God calls the willing, not just the polished. Your authentic self—just as you are—is exactly who God wants to use to bring light and love into the world. This truth has been life-changing for me, and I hope it encourages you to walk confidently in your own soulful walk.
