I may or may not be addicted to tarkov

I mean, the moment I clock out of work, my brain immediately switches to 'it's finally Tarkov time.' It's not just a game anymore; it's a routine, almost a compulsion. I remember thinking, 'just one more raid,' turning into hours, then entire evenings. The adrenaline rush of a successful extraction, the thrill of finding rare loot in a high-stakes raid – it's incredibly powerful. But then, the flip side hits. You start neglecting sleep, pushing back chores, or even skipping social plans because you just have to get that next quest done or secure that perfect loadout. It’s a loop. For me, the signs of this 'addiction' started subtle. I'd find myself thinking about strategies and loot routes during work meetings. My dreams would sometimes be about Scav runs or PMC fights. When I wasn't playing, I felt restless, like something was missing. It's not like other games where you can just pick up and put down. Tarkov demands your full attention, your full commitment, and it rewards that commitment with incredible highs, but also crushing lows that make you want to jump right back in to 'get it back.' I've had moments where I've looked at the clock, seen it's 3 AM, and realized I have work in a few hours, but the thought of logging off feels almost painful. The fear of missing out on a good raid, or losing progress on a difficult quest, can be overwhelming. I’ve started trying to implement some personal rules, like setting a timer for my sessions or making sure I finish at least one non-gaming task before I even think about launching the game. It’s a slow process, and I’m definitely not perfect at it. It’s a strange love-hate relationship. Tarkov offers unparalleled intensity, but it can easily bleed into other parts of your life if you're not careful. I'm still figuring out how to balance the thrill of the game with the responsibilities of real life. Sharing my experience here feels like a step towards acknowledging it. Has anyone else felt this deep pull towards Tarkov? What are your strategies for keeping it in check?
