Spiritual Girlie
I’m so excited to create my altar. I’ve been at hobby lobby, Ross, and Marshall’s, for decorative items. Do you have an altar? Let me know if you want to see what I have so far. 🔮✨💕 #altarspace #altarinspo #newonlemo8 #spiritualjourney
Building a personal altar has been such a transformative part of my spiritual journey, and I’m so excited to dive deeper into what makes these sacred spaces truly inspiring. When I first started thinking about creating my own altar of inspiration, I realized it wasn't just about pretty decorations; it was about crafting a dedicated spot for reflection, intention-setting, and connecting with my inner self or the energies I resonate with. You might be wondering, what exactly is an altar of inspiration? For me, it's a dynamic, living space that evolves with my intentions and spiritual path. It can be a simple shelf, a corner of a desk, or an entire table. The beauty is that it is entirely yours to create. What to Consider for Your Altar of Inspiration: Purpose & Intention: Before you start collecting items, think about what you want your altar to represent. Is it for daily meditation? Honoring ancestors? Manifestation? Or perhaps it's dedicated to a specific deity like Aphrodite, embodying love, beauty, and creativity? Knowing your intention will guide your choices. Elements: Many people incorporate the four elements: Earth: Crystals (quartz, amethyst, rose quartz are great starters!), plants, salt, sand, or a small bowl of soil. Air: Incense, feathers, or a small fan. Fire: Candles (white for purity, green for abundance, pink for love). Water: A small bowl of fresh water, a seashell, or a chalice. Personal Touches: This is where your altar truly becomes *yours*. Include photos, mementos, artwork, or anything that holds special meaning. For my own altar inspo, I love adding things that remind me of joy and connection. Maybe it’s a tiny figurine, a pressed flower from a special moment, or a piece of jewelry that carries sentimental value. Deity or Archetype Focus (optional): If you feel drawn to a specific energy, like the nurturing power of a goddess, you can include symbols or statues. I've seen some absolutely stunning altars dedicated to figures like Aphrodite, adorned with roses, pearls, and imagery of doves! This can really amplify the energy of your space. Where I Find My Altar Treasures (Beyond the Usual Suspects): While Hobby Lobby, Ross, and Marshall's are fantastic for affordable and beautiful decorative items, don't forget about other places to find unique pieces that add to your altar's energy. Thrift stores and antique shops are goldmines for vintage trinkets and bowls. Local artisan markets often have handmade candles, small sculptures, or unique art. Even nature walks can provide beautiful stones, leaves, or feathers (ensure they are ethically sourced!). I also love looking for small, beautiful bowls that can hold water or crystals, and tiny mirrors to reflect light and intentions. Remember, your altar doesn't need to be perfect or expensive. It's a reflection of your inner world and a space for daily connection. Just starting with a clean surface and one meaningful item is enough. The most important thing is that it resonates with you and inspires your spiritual journey every single day. I'd love to hear what inspires your altar!
