U.S. National Parks

This is a list of all of the national parks that are in the United States. A grand total of 63. The only National Park that I’ve been to is Yosemite.

I have made a post about this on my profile. It is one of the first posts I’ve made here on #Lemon8

What places have you been to? Do you have a list of parks that you want to go to?

... Read moreIt's true, there are 63 incredible National Parks scattered across the U.S., each offering its own unique slice of natural beauty! I'm on a mission to visit them all, and like many of you, I started with a U.S. National Parks Checklist. So far, Yosemite holds a very special place in my heart – that breathtaking panoramic view of Yosemite Valley with its majestic mountains, lush forests, and distant waterfalls completely stole my breath away. Standing proudly next to the iconic Yosemite National Park sign, I felt an immense sense of wonder and gratitude for these protected lands. But where do you even begin planning a trip to these natural wonders? For those looking to create their own ultimate list, or wondering which ones are truly "must-visit," I’ve done some digging and want to share a few insights. While I've only personally experienced the magic of Yosemite, the beauty of having a full list is seeing all the incredible places waiting to be explored! Many travelers aim for the "top 10 national parks in USA" or the "most visited national parks," and for good reason! These often include iconic gems like: Grand Canyon National Park (Arizona): An absolute marvel, its sheer scale and vibrant colors are something everyone should witness at least once. It’s perfect for dramatic viewpoints, challenging hikes, or even a scenic helicopter tour. The South Rim is easily accessible for first-timers! Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming, Montana, Idaho): Famous for its mesmerizing geothermal features like Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic Spring, and its incredible wildlife. It's truly an experience like no other, perfect for those who love unique geological formations and spotting majestic animals like bears, bison, and wolves in their natural habitat. Denali National Park and Preserve (Alaska): For the truly adventurous, home to North America's tallest peak, Denali. While I haven't been there yet, the images of its vast wilderness, stunning glaciers, and incredible wildlife, like grizzlies, caribou, and moose, are awe-inspiring. It's definitely on my dream list for an epic, once-in-a-lifetime journey. When you're planning your own adventure to explore these incredible regions, whether you're driving a white car through evergreen trees on a scenic byway like I often do, or flying to a remote destination, remember a few key things. Always check park websites for current conditions, weather forecasts, and reservation requirements – especially for popular parks during peak season. Consider visiting during the shoulder seasons (spring or fall) for fewer crowds, more comfortable weather, and often better chances for wildlife viewing. Pack layers, bring plenty of water and snacks, and most importantly, practice Leave No Trace principles to keep these beautiful places pristine for generations to come. This means packing out everything you pack in, staying on marked trails, and respecting wildlife. Visiting these parks isn't just about ticking off a list; it's about connecting with nature, experiencing incredibly diverse landscapes, and making unforgettable memories that last a lifetime. What's the first park you'd add to your own ultimate US National Parks List, or which one has been your favorite so far? I’d love to hear your recommendations as I plan my next adventure!
