But comparison distorts. It pulls you out of your own becoming and places you inside someone else’s timeline. It forgets context. It ignores your private growth. It measures your middle against someone else’s milestone.
You have not missed your moment.
You are not behind.
You are still unfolding.
The work is not to silence comparison with force. It is to get curious about what it is touching. Is it longing. Is it fear. Is it grief.

What helped me was shifting focus from the external markers of success to my personal growth and timing. Instead of feeling rushed or pressured, I began to reflect on the unique path I'm carving. Each milestone I reach may not align with someone else's timeline, but it holds value for my journey. Trusting this process has been liberating. Moreover, comparison often masks deeper feelings—sometimes it's a longing for community or achievement, sometimes fear of inadequacy, and at other times grief over missed opportunities. Acknowledging these emotions rather than pushing them aside allows for greater self-awareness and healing. For those struggling with comparison, try pausing and asking yourself what this feeling is really about. Is it envy, fear, or a desire for something more? Then turn your energy toward nurturing your own progress and celebrating your unfolding story. Remember, your moment is not missed; you are still becoming, evolving, and growing on your own beautiful schedule.
