Respect Is the Bare Minimum
Let’s go ahead and unlearn something real quick.
You do not earn basic respect.
Not by being patient.
Not by being understanding.
Not by over-explaining yourself.
Not by shrinking, accommodating, or proving your worth.
Respect is not a reward for “good behavior.”
It’s the starting point.
And the moment you realize that?
Everything shifts.
You stop negotiating with people who treat you like an option.
You stop explaining your boundaries to people committed to misunderstanding you.
You stop overextending just to be seen.
Because baby… if respect is inconsistent, it’s not respect.
It’s convenience.
You are not here to convince anyone to treat you well.
You are here to recognize when they don’t… and move accordingly.
No more over-giving.
No more over-tolerating.
No more trying to earn what should have been there from the beginning.
Respect is standard.
And anything less?
Is not your assignment to fix.
