REFLECTIONS FOR YOUR HEALING
You don't have to keep watering dead things just because you invested time in them.
I know it's hard.
Because you remember what it used to be. You remember the effort you gave. The conversations. The prayers. The years. The version of yourself that believed, "If I just try a little harder, maybe this can still be saved."
But time invested is not always evidence that something is meant to continue.
Sometimes we stay because of history. Sometimes we stay because leaving feels like admitting failure. Sometimes we confuse loyalty with self-abandonment.
But healing asks a different question:
Is this still life-giving?
Not:
How much have I already poured into it?
How long have I known them?
How hard have I worked?
But:
Is there reciprocity?
Is there growth?
Is there honesty?
Is there peace?
Is there room for me to thrive here?
Because not everything that once mattered is meant to be carried forever.
Some friendships have seasons. Some relationships teach lessons. Some dreams outlive their purpose. Some versions of ourselves need permission to be released.
Letting go doesn't erase the love you had. It doesn't mean it was all wasted. It doesn't mean you didn't care.
It simply means you're no longer sacrificing your well-being trying to revive something that no longer has roots.
You are allowed to grieve what could have been.
And you are allowed to stop pouring from an empty cup.
Choosing yourself isn't giving up.
It's trusting that what is meant to bloom in your life won't require you to neglect your own healing just to keep it alive.
You don't have to keep watering dead things.
You can plant something new.
