Week 5: TikTok Journey
I only posted 3 videos…. 😿😿😿
To be fair, my week was kwazy:
- dad hospitalised bc of a mini stroke
- falling sick and having high fever (39 degrees)
I am trying to be more consistent but it’s really not easy 🫠 mad respect for the influencers!
Video 26: $300 Popmart Haul
Filming & Editing difficulty: 3.5/5 stars
Thoughts: unboxing videos are difficult tbh, but happy to share! Got quite a lot of views too ~
Video 27: Dad labubu stroke edition
Filming & Editing difficulty: 1/5 stars
Thoughts: i posted it on my IG and everyone tot it was funny so I posted it on TT too 👻
Video 28: international bf day
Filming & editing difficulty: 2/5 stars
Thoughts: think the views came from the trending sound… not a v popular video actually (based on the likes received)
Consistency on TikTok is a real struggle, especially when life throws unexpected challenges your way. During Week 5, balancing my dad's hospitalization and recovering from a high fever made it difficult to film and edit videos regularly. I realized how much effort influencers put into maintaining steady content streams, and it gave me mad respect for them. Unboxing videos like my Popmart haul require patience and planning to capture the excitement authentically, but they can really resonate with viewers looking for genuine reactions and detailed insights. Even when a video doesn’t get tons of likes, using trending sounds can help boost visibility among users. Sharing personal stories, even humorous ones about family situations, connects me to my audience on a more personal level. It’s also important to recognize that not every post will be a hit, and that's okay. Learning from each upload and analyzing what viewers respond to helps me grow as a creator. For those facing creative blocks or external pressures, remember that it’s fine to take breaks and prioritize your well-being. TikTok success isn’t just about numbers but also about authenticity and perseverance. Keep experimenting, stay true to your style, and the audience will come.
