... Read moreOkay, so I recently made it to Little Ruby's Cafe in SOHO, NYC, and I have to spill the tea on my experience, especially since so many of you asked about it! Let's talk about the star of the show: the Spicy Vodka Pasta. When my plate arrived, it was exactly as pictured – a beautiful plate of pasta generously topped with crispy chicken, a good sprinkle of grated cheese, and fresh herbs. The presentation alone, served on that rustic wooden table with a lit candle beside it, really set the mood. I also couldn't resist ordering the fresh young coconut drink, which was perfectly refreshing alongside the richness of the pasta. The texture of the pasta was spot-on, perfectly al dente, and the vodka sauce was indeed creamy, with a nice kick that wasn't overwhelming but definitely present. The crispy chicken added a fantastic textural contrast to the silky pasta – it wasn't overly creamy itself, but the crispy exterior and tender inside were a great pairing. I've seen a lot of buzz about their 'creamy chicken,' and while this was crispy, the overall dish was definitely rich and satisfying. Now, for those looking beyond just dinner, Little Ruby's is also a popular spot for brunch. While I didn't get to try their brunch menu this time, I've heard amazing things about their breakfast bowls and avocado toast – definitely on my list for a future visit! It's the kind of place that transforms throughout the day, from a bustling coffee shop in the morning to a lively cafe for lunch and dinner. If you're searching for a 'cafe near me' or 'coffee shops near me' in the SOHO area, it’s a solid contender, offering more than just a quick caffeine fix. They have a great selection of coffees and teas, making it a perfect spot to relax or catch up with friends. Being in SOHO, it's surrounded by other fantastic 'MacDougal Street NYC restaurants,' but Little Ruby's definitely holds its own with its distinct Australian-inspired menu and laid-back vibe. For anyone interested in 'Australian food near me' in NYC, this is a must-visit. And a little tip: if you're looking for a good deal, keep an eye out for their 'happy hour' specials. I didn't make it for happy hour this trip, but it's often a great way to sample different dishes and drinks without breaking the bank. Overall, while my rating was a 6/10 for the specific dish this time, the overall experience, atmosphere, and the quality of ingredients like the juicy crispy chicken and the fresh young coconut, make it a place I'd recommend checking out!
