Suddenly, that spark flickers, or sometimes, completely dies. For me, these aren't just minor annoyances; some are absolute deal breakers that tell me this isn't going anywhere. One of my biggest instant turn-offs has to be poor hygiene. And I don't mean just a bad hair day, I mean genuinely not caring about how you present yourself. If someone shows up looking like they just rolled out of bed and haven't brushed their teeth, it immediately signals a lack of effort and self-respect. If you can't bother to put in a little effort for a first impression, what does that say about how you'd treat me or our potential relationship down the line? It’s a huge red flag for me. Another big one? Constant negativity or complaining. I love a good rant about a frustrating day as much as the next person, but if every single topic of conversation swings back to how awful everything is, how much they hate their job, or how everyone else is to blame for their problems, I'm out. Dating should be about connecting and finding joy, not being a therapist. A positive outlook, or at least a balanced one, is super attractive. Nobody wants to be around someone who constantly drains their energy. And let's talk about communication, or rather, the lack thereof. If I'm getting one-word answers, or if I feel like I'm pulling teeth to get a conversation going, that’s a massive turn-off. It makes me feel like they're not interested, or worse, that they don't value my time. Good communication is the bedrock of any relationship, romantic or otherwise, so if it's not there from the start, that's a definite deal breaker. What about arrogance? There's a fine line between confidence and arrogance, and it's easily crossed. Someone who talks exclusively about themselves, interrupts constantly, or acts like they're superior to everyone else? Hard pass. True confidence allows for humility and genuine interest in others. I'm looking for someone who can lift others up, not put them down to make themselves feel bigger. It's funny how these instant turn-offs often reveal deeper aspects of a person's character. They're not just superficial quirks; they're glimpses into someone's values, their self-awareness, and how they navigate the world. Recognizing your own deal breakers is so crucial because it helps you filter out incompatible matches early on, saving you time and emotional energy. It’s about knowing what you truly need and deserve in a partner. So, tell me, what are your absolute instant turn-offs when it comes to dating? What makes you hit the brakes immediately? I'm genuinely curious to hear what others consider their non-negotiables!

When the person you’re dating isn’t intentionally dating and wants to string you along or wanting to play the field. Or some of them would say that they need to feel the chemistry by getting intimate with them before committing to a relationship

I honestly can’t stand cuss words. Me being female, I don’t want a guy that every other word out of their mouth is the f bomb. I would have to say a close second would be a man who dogs on his mama on the first date.
