Backrooms Escape Together is officially the only type of escape room I’ll ever do from now on. It perfectly captures that mix of anxiety and chaos that makes horror games so addictive. The gameplay is intense and keeps you on edge, fueling a rollercoaster of emotions—anxiety, panic, and surprisingly, some genuine teamwork moments. But don’t get too comfortable; the game thrives on throwing you into situations that make you question whether you’re truly cooperating or just trying to survive at all costs.
As someone who isn’t a regular mouse-and-keyboard player, I struggled at first. The controls felt like a challenge on their own, which added an extra layer of tension to an already nerve-wracking experience. But honestly, that just made the eventual victories (or escapes) feel so much sweeter.
What really makes Backrooms Escape Together stand out, though, is the in-game chat. There’s something uniquely horrifying—and hilarious—about hearing your friend’s voice fade in and out as they scream, run, and inevitably get caught. It’s pure gold when you’re hiding, hoping the monster doesn’t hear you, while your teammate is audibly losing their mind somewhere in the distance.

Love this game on a hybrid, you’d think this game is a full blown sativa, theres puzzles you have to solve and the anxiety is ramped up when you high out of your mind and being chased. But I find that a sativa will have you slightly frustrated trying to solve something and things dont go your way. You using too much brain power. A hybrid gets this good balanced of scare your socks off and genuinely have a good time and feeling of accomplishment once you escape.
