The majority of the posts on my For You Page on here are very old "TJ Maxx" or "Five Below" finds. Clearly things that have been rotated out with the next seasons stock. Many posts are from anywhere between January and April.
How do you change this? Is there a way to change this? Lemon8 almost needs a post filter option to get the newer posts to filter through.
... Read moreI totally get the frustration of seeing an 'Old FYP?' when you open up Lemon8! It's super disheartening to scroll through your For You Page, expecting fresh inspiration, only to find posts about TJ Maxx or Five Below finds from months ago. I've definitely been there, wondering why my feed isn't keeping up with the latest trends or what's new in stores *right now*. It feels like we're missing out on so much great content!
So, how do we tackle this 'Old FYP?' dilemma and ensure our Lemon8 experience is always vibrant and relevant? Here are a few tips I've picked up, and I'd love to hear what works for you!
First, **interact actively with what you do want to see. This might sound obvious, but the algorithm learns from your engagement. If you see a new post you love, don't just scroll past! Like it, save it, comment on it, and even share it. The more signals you send about what content you prefer, the quicker Lemon8’s algorithm can adjust your For You Page. If you keep seeing old 'TJ Maxx' hauls, resist the urge to linger or engage with them, even out of curiosity. Quickly scroll past or even use the 'Not Interested' option if it's available for specific posts.
Second, seek out and follow new creators. Sometimes, the FYP gets a bit stale because we're not actively diversifying our feed. Spend some time exploring the 'Following' tab or using the search bar. Look for popular hashtags related to your interests – whether it's fashion, beauty, home decor, or food. When you find creators whose content consistently excites you, hit that follow button! This is a proactive way to ensure a steady stream of fresh posts, rather than waiting for the algorithm to serve them up randomly. You might even discover amazing new perspectives or unique finds that way.
Third, engage with communities and challenges.** Lemon8 is all about community! Participating in challenges or browsing popular community hubs can expose you to a wealth of new content and creators you might not have found otherwise. Often, creators are sharing their latest discoveries and tips within these spaces. It's a fantastic way to broaden your horizons beyond your current 'following' list and get a taste of what's trending *now*.
Finally, consider refreshing your app or even reinstalling. Sometimes, a simple tech solution can make a difference. Closing and reopening the app, clearing its cache (if your phone allows this easily), or even reinstalling it (make sure you save your drafts!) can sometimes kickstart a fresher feed. While not a guaranteed fix, it's worth a try if your 'Old FYP?' problem persists.
It’s about taking a bit more control over your feed. By being more intentional with our likes, follows, and explorations, we can collectively push Lemon8 to deliver the dynamic, inspiring content we all crave. What are your go-to strategies for keeping your Lemon8 FYP fresh and exciting? I'm always looking for new ways to discover amazing creators and their latest finds!
