My Favorite Things To Do in 📍Paris

Paris is my favorite city to visit and there are so many things to do, especially in the summer so here are my personal recommendations.

🥂Happy Hour or Dinner at an Outdoor Restaurant

The French love to sit outside and eat over a 2-3 hour meal and I think it’s the perfect way to take in the city, especially if you have a great view.

🏰 Castle or Museum Visit

Paris has so much unique history to share with the world and I love seeing how grand the castles are. My favorite is the Castle of Versailles (not pictured). It is 30 mins outside of the city but it’s worth the trek.

🧺 Picnic at the Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is a great way to wind down at the end of the night, especially because it is lit for the first 10 mins of every hour starting at 10PM. Vendors sell wine and mini charcueterie boards and it is one of my favorite things go do in the summer evenings.

... Read moreWhile the original post touched on delightful outdoor dining, Paris truly comes alive after sunset during summer, offering a whole new dimension of charm. Beyond a relaxing dinner, I've found some incredible ways to dive into the city's vibrant nightlife. For those seeking something a bit more energetic, explore areas like the Latin Quarter or Le Marais. These districts buzz with charming bars, many of which offer fantastic happy hour deals, perfect for soaking in Parisian vibes without breaking the bank. I always look for places with outdoor seating to enjoy the warm summer air and watch the city go by. And yes, as my travel notes remind me, there are often fantastic 'Outdoor Clubs Summer Only' that pop up, offering unique experiences by the Seine or on rooftops – definitely worth seeking out for a memorable night out in Paris. Speaking of memorable nights, that Eiffel Tower picnic is truly iconic, and I've picked up a few tips to make it even more special. Instead of just relying on street vendors, I love stopping by a local boulangerie or fromagerie earlier in the day to pick up a fresh baguette, delicious cheeses, and perhaps some pre-made charcuterie. Don't forget a bottle of wine (a corkscrew is essential!) and a cozy blanket. My favorite spot to lay out is on the Champ de Mars, finding a good patch of grass with an unobstructed view of the tower. I aim to arrive a bit before 10 PM to secure a prime spot and watch the sky darken, anticipating the dazzling light show that starts on the hour. It's truly a magical experience that never gets old for me, feeling like a local enjoying the city's most famous landmark. For an alternative evening activity, consider a romantic Bateaux Mouches cruise along the Seine. Seeing the city's illuminated landmarks from the water, perhaps with a glass of champagne, offers a different perspective of Parisian beauty. This is especially lovely after visiting a museum like the Louvre, which you can even experience during some of its late-night openings on specific days. My 'Museum Tours' note reminds me to always 'Book Online' in advance for these special evening slots to avoid disappointment. Navigating Paris at night is generally safe, but having a plan for getting back to your accommodation is always wise. I often rely on rideshare apps like Bolt or Uber, especially if I'm out past the metro's operating hours. My 'VOIE ERS Bolt Rideshare' tip is a lifesaver for ensuring a smooth and convenient end to a perfect Parisian evening. Whether it's a quiet stroll along a romantic bridge, dancing the night away, or simply people-watching from a charming café, Paris in the summer truly offers an endless array of unforgettable experiences. Don't forget to save this for your next adventure!
