holyy shi its been so long since ive had yakun lol
It’s always a comforting feeling to return to a favorite treat after some time, and for me, that’s Yakun kaya toast. This simple yet iconic toast, usually served with butter and sweet kaya jam, brings back nostalgic vibes and a burst of flavors that are just perfect any time of the day. On the day I shared in the article, my lunch was the classic Yakun kaya toast at 3pm, which gave me a cozy midday pick-me-up. I usually like pairing the toast with a cup of strong coffee or teh tarik to complete the traditional experience. Later for dinner around 8:30pm, I switched things up with some comforting pasta, opting for something warm and filling after a long day. Dessert came late, at 10pm, where I enjoyed a slice of birthday cake. I find that dessert late in the evening is a nice way to wind down and treat yourself, especially to celebrate moments or simply indulge in something sweet after the day’s meals. In my personal experience, incorporating simple favorites like kaya toast into daily meals can brighten your routine without much hassle. It’s a reminder that food doesn’t always need to be complicated to be satisfying. Whether it’s a nostalgic katsutra like kaya toast or a familiar pasta dish, it’s these easy comforts that often bring the most joy.
