All of nature is resting
While everything else in nature is resting in winter, the human race continues to pursue a life of hustle, stress, anxiety.
We push against the natural desire to rest during this season. Everything God has given us reminds us that even Jesus chose rest. And yet, we strive to hurry, to compete, to win, to stress, to worry.
Friend, the long days will return soon enough. Lean into rest, sit back and observe the beauty all around you. Enjoy hearty meals, warm drinks, crackling fire and the laughs of those you love most.
Sit with the Lord, prepare your mind and body for the season that’s right around the corner. We cannot be busy 24/7, without eventually burning out. You have a natural yearning for a quieting with Jesus. Go to Him. 🖤
Winter is a season of reflection and rejuvenation, where nature slows its pace, urging us to do the same. For many, the pressures of modern life make it difficult to find that balance. We often feel compelled to keep pushing through the hustle and bustle of daily responsibilities. However, recognizing the significance of rest can rejuvenate our mental and physical well-being. By intentionally setting aside time for relaxation, we can avoid burnout and cultivate deeper connections with ourselves and our loved ones. Engaging in restful activities, such as enjoying warm beverages by the fireplace or simply taking a quiet moment to unwind, allows us to appreciate the beauty in the simplicity of winter. Research shows that adequate rest not only enhances our mood but also boosts our productivity. Embracing this season of rest doesn't mean we stop pursuing our goals; rather, it helps us to recharge and maintain a healthier state of mind. As we reflect on the year's challenges, let this winter be an invitation to embrace tranquility, meditate, and find peace in God’s presence. Ultimately, rest is not a luxury but a necessity—especially in a world that constantly pushes us to do more.
