Once they start crawling and exploring, soft, flexible shoes that allow their feet to develop naturally are best. Avoid anything too restrictive or stiff, as this can hinder proper foot development. When they're just starting to stand or walk, going barefoot indoors is actually fantastic for strengthening their foot muscles. And about those pink painted toenails you see in the photo... it was a fun, occasional treat! Of course, always use baby-safe, non-toxic polishes, and only if you're comfortable. It's a tiny splash of color for a special day, but always prioritize their comfort and safety.
