POV: You thought you were starting a normal book..

I just finished this book and I’m honestly still trying to emotionally recover. This wasn’t just a sad book… it was the kind that slowly pulls you in and then absolutely shatters you.

The story follows a promise between two best friends serving in the military. When one of them can’t keep that promise, the other steps in — writing letters to the friend’s sister and trying to keep a connection alive through words.

What starts as simple letters turns into something so much deeper: grief, love, healing, and the kind of sacrifices that stay with you forever.

Things I loved:

💌 The letters throughout the story

😭 The emotional depth of the characters

❤️ A love story that feels raw and real

Things I didn’t expect:

This book would absolutely destroy me.

If you like emotional reads that make you cry and think about the characters long after the last page, this one is worth it… just keep tissues nearby.
