Fever Dream by Elsie Silver
5 STAR READ!!! It never fails—an Elsie Silver book can always pull me out of a reading slump. I’m so happy to say it took me roughly 24 hours to finish this book, and I loved every single second of it. I’ve never been one of those girls who enjoys watching trashy reality TV dating shows, but somehow reading one and getting the behind-the-scenes perspective completely captivated me. And of course, because I have such a soft spot for cowboy romances, I knew I was going to devour every page—especially since Elsie wrote it. I already can’t wait to see what comes next in this series. I’m really hoping Parker gets the next book because, as always, Elsie has a way of making her side characters completely steal the show. I also loved getting to see Theo and Winter again. Moments like that make everything feel so full circle, especially since I started my Elsie journey with the Chestnut Springs series. It’s honestly crazy to think that Elsie is the first author whose entire backlist I’ve officially read. Every single book has been an incredible experience, and I can’t wait for whatever she writes next. I’m also beyond excited for the Chestnut Springs and Rose Hill TV adaptations. As much as I’m excited for my next read, I’m honestly not ready to leave Emmett and Julia behind. Their story completely stole my heart, and I wish I could stay with them just a little bit longer. #elsiesilver #feverdream #emeraldlake #cowboyromance #fyp
Elsie Silver’s Fever Dream offers more than just a typical cowboy romance; it provides a captivating glimpse behind the scenes of reality TV dating shows, a setting that many readers may not expect to enjoy but find themselves completely hooked on. What really draws me into this book is how Elsie masterfully blends the rugged charm of cowboy life with the heightened drama typical of reality TV, creating a unique atmosphere that keeps you turning the pages. Having read many of Elsie’s works, I appreciate how she invests in her side characters, giving each a rich backstory and presence that often outshines the leads. For instance, the hope that Parker’s story is next speaks volumes about how compelling these secondary characters become. It adds depth to the series and encourages readers to anticipate future releases eagerly. Another aspect that struck me was the revisiting of characters like Theo and Winter, which reinforces the interconnected nature of Elsie’s world. Fans who started with the Chestnut Springs series will feel a special sense of continuity and closure, making the reading experience more fulfilling. On a personal note, this series pulled me out of a reading slump, thanks to Elsie's engaging narration and emotional depth. The heartfelt portrayal of Emmett and Julia's journey left a lasting impression, making it hard to say goodbye after finishing the book. I also share the excitement around the upcoming TV adaptations of Chestnut Springs and Rose Hill—seeing these beloved stories come to life on screen will no doubt thrill fans.
