Kinda! The “caps” fall off. They will also lose their “wolf teeth.” Usually by age 4-5 then it’s just adult tooth time. This came off of my trainer’s 3 year old gelding during a routine dental exam. It was hanging on by a thread so she did him a favor and popped it off but it’s also possible (and typical) for horses to lose them on their own. My friend had a horse lose his in his grain and then immediately try to eat it. She stopped him. Barely. #horseproblems #horses
