PRESENT DAY: Eden Fox returns home from a run to find her house key doesn’t work. A woman who looks just like her answers the door and claims to live there and be her husband’s wife. And her husband insists that woman is his wife.
6 MONTHS PRIOR: Birdy is terminally ill and doesn’t have long to live. She travels to Hopefalls to deal with the inheritance her grandmother left her.
This story gave me whiplash. It was such a mess and didn’t even attempt to be relatively believable. 🫨
The story was off to a promising start but quickly went completely off the rails for me. I know I might be in the minority with this review. But this book wasn’t for me. 😬
Can’t really give too many specifics because I don’t want to spoil the story. I know there are a lot of people who really enjoyed this one. I wish I could say I did. 🥲
