FREE summer activities for kids
Here are some of my favorite (mostly free) activities to do with my 3 year old during the summer:
Splash pad, swimming, the zoo (the pet store can be a free zoo!), water balloon fight, bubbles, any kind of painting craft, nature walks (when it’s not too hot), the beach, and the library (most libraries have tons of free summer activities and programs)

Summer is the perfect time to engage toddlers with activities that promote fun and learning without breaking the bank. Consider incorporating nature-themed activities, like scavenger hunts or simple gardening, which foster curiosity and respect for the environment. Visit local parks or botanical gardens for free educational programs designed specifically for young children. Many communities also offer free outdoor movie nights where families can enjoy films in a safe and fun environment. Additionally, host playdates where kids can enjoy water games, arts and crafts, or simple storytelling sessions, turning your backyard into a hub of excitement. Engaging with your toddler through these creative, free summer activities not only enhances their social skills but also creates wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. Don't forget to check out your local library's summer programs which often include exciting storytimes, craft sessions, and themed events specifically tailored for toddlers. With so many possibilities, this summer can be filled with laughter and learning together! Explore nearby attractions that might offer free entry on certain days, making family outings even more cost-effective. With inspiration from these ideas, enjoy making your toddler's summer unforgettable!
