This was a cozy and read and I was not expecting that! I thought because of the paranormal aspects it would read more scary spooky but no 🤣✨. It’s low stakes and a slow burn. 🔥
Cassie the FMC just recently moved to Boneyard Key after purchasing a house on a great deal.👀 One day she decided to go to the near by coffee shop ran by Nick the grumpy owner. 🙂↕️
They don’t hit it off right away but Cassie sure thinks he makes a great hazelnut latte 🙌🏻🤣☕️. Plus, she can charge her laptop there so win win 🏆.
Things slowly start happening inside Cassie’s house and she enlists the help of Nick and that’s where it gets interesting. 🔥🙌🏻🙂↕️✨
Did I guess some twists… yes! Did I still enjoy it… also yes!!
I loved the side characters and how the city is portrayed as a Halloween ghost town because a majority of it could be haunted 👀🦈👻.
If you like Gilmore Girls and Virgin River I recommend checking this book out 🙌🏻🩷.
If you enjoy paranormal romance that blends mystery with cozy, small-town life, you'll appreciate how this story balances supernatural elements without turning into a horror tale. The setting of Boneyard Key as a Halloween ghost town adds atmospheric charm that enhances the romance and mystery. In my experience, slow-burn romances like this one allow characters to develop deeply—Cassie's interaction with Nick at the local coffee shop shows how relationships can grow naturally despite a rocky start. Haunted houses often evoke suspense, but this story takes a low-stakes approach, making it accessible even to readers who don't typically gravitate toward spooky genres. The side characters enrich the plot by reflecting themes of family found and community bonds, which adds emotional layers beyond the romance. I found the paranormal happenings inside Cassie’s new home cleverly intertwined with the mystery subplot, keeping me engaged without overwhelming the story’s cozy tone. This blend of familiar, everyday life with gentle supernatural touches provides a comforting yet intriguing read. For readers who enjoy TV shows like Gilmore Girls and Virgin River, this book offers a similar cozy atmosphere paired with a paranormal twist that isn’t too intense. It’s perfect for curling up with a warm drink on a quiet evening. Plus, the inclusion of a local coffee shop as a central setting adds a relatable and inviting feel, making the entire narrative more grounded. Overall, this paranormal romance succeeds in delivering a blend of slow-burning love, family connection, and light mystery in a small town that feels both spooky and welcoming—a very enjoyable combination for fans of the genre.
