Super7 Transformers Ultimates Grimlock!

Hey fellow collectors! So, my recent unboxing of the Super7 Transformers Ultimates Grimlock really got me thinking, and I wanted to share a bit more than just my first impressions. This figure is definitely a conversation starter, especially for us die-hard Transformers fans. First off, if you're like me and were eyeing the "6rimlock Transformers Super 7!" (or Grimlock, as it should be!) figure, you probably appreciate the nostalgia and detail Super7 brings to their Ultimates line. They really aim for that classic, cartoon-accurate look combined with modern articulation. For Grimlock, this means capturing his iconic G1 aesthetic. When I first got my hands on him, the sheer size and weight immediately impressed me. The sculpt is fantastic, really bringing out his fierce Dinobot leader persona. The paint applications are crisp, and I love the metallic sheen on certain parts – it just screams quality. Now, about the rating and that missing manual... It was a bummer, for sure. When you invest in a collector's piece, you expect everything to be perfect. The manual usually details transformation steps (though Grimlock isn't traditionally transformable in the Ultimates line, it could show accessory placement or character details) and often adds to the collector's experience. It made me wonder about quality control, but ultimately, the figure itself is robust. For posing, I found his articulation to be pretty good for an Ultimates figure, allowing for some dynamic stances despite his bulky design. His jaw opens wide, which is perfect for roaring poses! Speaking of Grimlock, it’s hard not to think about his different iterations. While this Super7 figure is a G1 masterpiece, many of us also remember the powerhouse Grimlock from Transformers Devastation. The Super7 Ultimates line aims for a different kind of nostalgia, leaning into the original cartoon's charm. However, the sheer power and presence of this Super7 Grimlock definitely evoke the same feeling of an unstoppable force that the game Grimlock did. It’s interesting how different media portray the same character, yet his essence—a powerful, intelligent, albeit sometimes blunt, leader—always shines through. If you loved the game's take on Grimlock, you'll still appreciate the sheer "oomph" this Super7 version brings to your shelf, even if the artistic styles differ. For fellow collectors, I'd say consider what you're looking for. If you want a definitive G1-inspired Grimlock with excellent shelf presence and a focus on articulation over transformation, this Super7 Ultimates version is a strong contender. The accessories are usually great with Super7, and Grimlock comes with his classic sword and blasters, which adds to the display options. Despite the small hiccup with the manual, I'm still happy to have this big guy in my collection. He truly stands out amongst my other Transformers figures. It's not just a toy; it's a piece of Transformers history on your desk!
