These are most of the books I have currently waiting on me when I decide to read them...
yes. it's a lot.
yes. I'm aware I've probably spent a lot of money on books.
no. I do not regret it 🤣
In all seriousness I need to read these books before I buy any more so! here's my plan y'all.
1) Reading goal of 50 books in 2026
2) Book buying ban UNTILL those 50 books are read completely
3) my SO is picking the books I'm reading with a wheel I will make for him and send to him so I can't skip on books
4) I must keep a streak on Fable (Eclipse6_) of at least 5 months!
so! those are my rules for myself for this upcoming year, starting today I will not be buying more books, gifts don't count as buying, but they will count toward my Reading goal when I do read them nor will I be reading more books till I finish the four books I'm currently reading.
my current reads? glad you asked!:
Tourist Season by Brynne Weaver
God of Pain by Rina Kent
Immortal Dark by Tigest Girma
AND
Lock Every Door by Riley Sager
wish me luck friends!
have an amazing day and make good choices!

... Read moreBook lovers often face the delightful dilemma of towering unread stacks, and setting clear goals can transform reading habits into rewarding routines. My 2026 plan focusses on reading 50 books, which is ambitious yet manageable with dedication and accountability strategies. One effective way to tackle such a challenge is by enforcing a temporary book buying ban until a certain number are read, which helps curb impulsive purchases and encourages focus on existing books.
Incorporating accountability with a loved one choosing your next read via a book wheel adds a fun and social element, reducing the temptation to skip difficult books. This method keeps the reading experience fresh and exciting, while pushing through a diverse range of genres and authors.
Maintaining a streak on reading platforms like Fable can motivate a consistent habit, turning daily reading into a rewarding journey. Tracking progress digitally helps visualize achievements and boosts motivation.
Current reads like 'Tourist Season' by Brynne Weaver provide compelling narratives to dive into alongside thrillers like 'Lock Every Door' by Riley Sager, or genre-spanning work ‘God of Pain’ by Rina Kent. These titles cater to varied moods and preferences, demonstrating the value of a well-curated reading list.
Remember, books gifted during such a ban also contribute toward goals, providing not only encouragement but also meaningful surprises that enrich the reading pile.
Whether you’re pursuing a similar reading goal or just looking to better manage your collection, consider adopting some of these strategies; they blend discipline with enjoyment. Reading should remain an enriching and stress-free experience, creating moments of joy and learning amid daily life. Best of luck, and happy reading!
