# Bo took to doThis time came as a bit of excitement because it wasn't planned before, caused by pure clumsiness, hahahaha. I accidentally broke my favorite ceramic cup that I bought from Chiang Mai. I can't throw it down. And I thought that there was a kind of repair that I wanted to try here!
Everyone should know the Japanese art of repair that already conveys this philosophy, kintsugi, or the original translation is welded with gold. Originally, he would use a rubber extract of the urushi tree (which means love, too. It means very well) that was durable and used with food, mixed gold and welded the broken tiles together. It is an art that conveys the beauty of imperfection. It is traumatic to repair and not be ashamed of the wound, because it is what makes us!
But as I said, this one was so sudden that I couldn't find the Urushi tree tires or buy kintsugi kit from anywhere at the time, so I tried diy with the equipment available, which only
- Hot glue
- Air dry clay.
- Acrylic color
- Small brush.
🤏🏻, there are three simple steps.
1. Use glue to attach different parts together.
Tips: Keep as many pieces as you can and it will be easy to assemble. And try to assemble which pieces must stick together first. There is one piece we missed, stuck and stuffed in the other. Must file out to stuff. 🥹
2. Use wet air dry clay and apply it to a groove that is not completely attached (this is a substitute for urushi rubber). When you want to dry quickly, use a cold hair dryer to blow a little younger.
3. Paint gold on the weld. If a little messy, use a damping tissue to wipe it around.
Tips: If you want to have a gold sparkle, you can buy gold powder or gold leaf to brush dry.
Done! We tried it and tried it for about an hour. It's done. It's fun. Anyone who accidentally breaks a favorite dish or glass can try this method. Even if you can't use it back to eat the same food (⚠️ the device is not food safety! ⚠️), but can put on a beautiful show. It has another meaning.
