Be a Leader—- not a sheep
The idea that if someone is “illegal,” that’s it — end of story. They broke the law. Send them back. No discussion. No nuance. No humanity.
But that view skips over something really important.
Yes, immigration laws exist. Yes, entering or staying without status can violate those laws. But what many people fail to realize is that the same legal system that enforces immigration law also provides legal pathways for people to stay.
That’s not a loophole. That’s not corruption. That’s how the law is designed.
In the United States, there are actual statutes — written by Congress — that allow undocumented immigrants to apply for relief and potentially remain in the country legally. For example:
• Asylum protections for people fleeing persecution
• U visas for victims of serious crimes who assist law enforcement
• T visas for victims of human trafficking
• Special Immigrant Juvenile Status for abused or abandoned children

These aren’t random acts of sympathy. They are legal remedies built into U.S. immigration law.
