✨A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping✨Book Review

Just finished A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping and I’m in love. 🪄✨ Cozy, magical, and quietly emotional in the best way. It’s like a warm hug for your heart—with a side of enchanted scones.

Sera was a young teen witch when she used her magic to cast a forbidden spell for someone she loved dearly. After being exiled for casting said spell, she spends years searching for ways to restore the rest of her magic back to what it once was. She comes across a historian who doesn’t want to help her, a new spell to cast, and some challenges to face.

Along the way, she learns more about herself, gains friends who eventually become family, a love interest & finally finds herself.

It’s got humor, an undead chicken, a talking fox & found family.

4/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — soft, healing, and full of charm.

... Read moreOkay, so you've heard a little bit about 'A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping,' but let me tell you why this book truly resonated with me and why I think it's become such a buzz. Beyond the surface-level charm, Sangu Mandanna crafts a story that's deeply rooted in healing and second chances, which I absolutely adore in my cozy fantasy reads. One of the most captivating aspects for me was Sera's past with that forbidden spell. The queries about a 'sorceress teaching a spell to a close companion' really hit on a core part of the narrative – Sera's guilt and her quest to reclaim her lost magic. It's not just a casual magical hiccup; it's the catalyst for her entire journey, leading her to the magical inn and all the wonderful, quirky characters she encounters. This element adds a layer of emotional depth that elevates it beyond a simple feel-good story. Her struggle to undo what she did, and the unexpected ways she finds herself again, is truly heartwarming. The 'innkeeping' part isn't just a backdrop; it's central to the cozy vibes. Imagine a magical house, much like the one on the book's beautiful cover, where every corner seems to hold a secret or a warm, inviting glow. The way the inn helps Sera rebuild her life, and how she brings life back into the inn itself, is just enchanting. It's a place of refuge not just for Sera, but for the reader too. And let's talk about the characters! The 'found family' trope here is executed perfectly. You've got this wonderful ensemble that slowly but surely becomes Sera's anchor. From the grumpy historian with a soft spot to the unexpectedly charming love interest, each character feels real and contributes to the overall warmth. Plus, who can resist an undead chicken and a talking fox? These unique magical companions add so much whimsy and humor, perfectly balancing the more emotional themes. They’re not just sidekicks; they have personalities that truly shine and make you smile. For anyone looking for a book that combines the comforting embrace of a cozy fantasy with a rich emotional journey about self-discovery and forgiveness, this is it. Sangu Mandanna has created a world that feels both familiar and wondrously new. It's the kind of book that leaves you feeling lighter and more hopeful, like you've just spent a weekend at the most magical inn imaginable. If you're pondering whether to pick up 'A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping,' I wholeheartedly say yes – it's a truly magical escape!
