จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัว ผมเคยปล่อยให้ไฟเตือนน้ำมันโชว์บ่อยๆ แล้วเติมทีละนิด ทำให้ปั๊มติ๊กเกิดความร้อนสะสมจนมีปัญหา ต้องซ่อมเครื่องยนต์และเปลี่ยนปั๊มใหม่ ซึ่งค่าใช้จ่ายก็ไม่ใช่น้อยเลยครับ สิ่งที่ผมเริ่มทำตั้งแต่นั้นมา คือพยายามเติมน้ำมันเมื่อปริมาณในถังเหลือประมาณ 1/4 ของความจุถัง และเติมไปจนถึงเกินครึ่งถังเสมอ วิธีนี้ช่วยให้ปั๊มติ๊กได้รับน้ำมันซึ่งช่วยระบายความร้อน ทำให้ชิ้นส่วนภายในถังน้ำมันโดยเฉพาะปั๊มติ๊กทำงานได้ดีและไม่ร้อนเกินไป ข้อดีเพิ่มเติมคือ น้ำมันที่มีปริมาณมากในถังยังช่วยป้องกันไม่ให้เศษสิ่งสกปรกในถังถูกดูดเข้าไปในระบบเชื้อเพลิง เพราะน้ำมันส่วนใหญ่จะช่วยกรองสิ่งสกปรกในถัง ลดปัญหาการอุดตันของกรองน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิงและหัวฉีดน้ำมันเครื่องยนต์ด้วย ถ้าคุณเป็นคนที่ใช้รถทุกวันหรือขับทางไกล การเติมน้ำมันอย่างสม่ำเสมอและไม่ปล่อยให้น้ำมันหมดเกือบถังถือเป็นสิ่งสำคัญที่จะช่วยลดความเสี่ยงของการเสียหายของอุปกรณ์ภายในเครื่องยนต์และระบบเชื้อเพลิง สรุปได้ว่า การเติมน้ำมันทีละนิดๆ หรือปล่อยให้ไฟเตือนน้ำมันโชว์บ่อยๆ นั้นไม่เพียงแต่เสี่ยงทำให้ปั๊มติ๊กเสื่อมสภาพเร็วขึ้น แต่ยังทำให้ระบบรถยนต์ทำงานผิดปกติและอาจเกิดเหตุร้ายบนถนนได้ ดังนั้นรักรถต้องหมั่นดูแลเติมน้ำมันในปริมาณที่เหมาะสม จะช่วยประหยัดและป้องกันค่าใช้จ่ายซ่อมแซมที่ไม่จำเป็นในอนาคตครับ
