Favorite dog treats
Unfortunately my dog has food allergies. So it’s very important I minimize ingredients and try to focus on single protein foods.
1.) This is his new favorite obsession- deer jerky! Yes, this is a lot of work. But luckily we hunt during deer season so I have a ton of deer meat every year. This deer jerky has no spices or marinades. Only one ingredient- deer! Cut it really thin and pop it into the dehydrator for awhile. Lasts several weeks and he’s obsessed with it. 🦌
2.) Hills prescription hypo treats- These really surprised me. I would have bet money he wouldn’t have ate these but turns out he loves them. I get them from Amazon and for his size, it’s suggested he has 3 a day. Loves them!
3 &4.) Homemade dog treats- these are a little time consuming to make but are a sweet little treat for him. One is made with pumpkin puree and the other has applesauce in it. Both are baked in the oven and smell so good!
For dog owners facing the challenge of food allergies in their pets, choosing the right treats is crucial. It’s important to select treats that are free from common allergens while still being flavorful and enjoyable. Deer jerky stands out as an excellent option due to its single ingredient format, making it ideal for sensitive tummies. Furthermore, specialized options like Hill's Prescription Diet hypoallergenic treats provide both convenience and flavor, ensuring dogs with allergies can enjoy tasty treats without health risks. Homemade treats such as pumpkin puree and applesauce cookies not only cater to dietary sensitivities but also allow pet owners to control what goes into their dog’s food, minimizing the risk of allergic reactions. These treats are not just safe but also promote bonding as you prepare them in your kitchen. Understanding your dog's unique needs will help you make informed decisions, ensuring they get the enjoyment and nutrition they deserve.
