From my experience, practicing slow-speed maneuvers is key to gaining full control over such a large machine. I started by finding an empty parking lot to set up a few cones in tight patterns. Then, I focused on smooth throttle control and using the rear brake to keep balance while navigating the cones carefully. One trick I found useful was to maintain a steady speed and look ahead rather than directly at the cones, which helps the bike follow the intended path more naturally. Additionally, learning to shift your body weight slightly during turns on the Rocket III improves traction and stability, making those slow, precise movements easier. Incorporating these drills regularly greatly boosted my confidence in city traffic and during parking maneuvers. The Rocket III, despite its size, can become remarkably agile with consistent practice. If you're on a similar large cruiser, dedicating time to cone drills and slow-speed riding will definitely enhance your overall riding skills.
