DIPG

This is my 5 and a half year old daughter, McKinli. We’ve been fighting DIPG for going on 3 weeks now. This is a terminal cancer with an average expectancy of 9-10 months. My 5 year old should not be having to fight a terminal cancer diagnosis. She’s supposed to bury me not the other way around. Please keep up in your thoughts and prayers. We have a gofundme set up if you feel the need to donate. @Dustin Tatar #mckinlisfight #dipgwarrior #screwcancer

... Read moreDIPG, or Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, is a highly aggressive brain tumor primarily affecting children, typically between 5 and 10 years old. This condition poses significant challenges as it is difficult to diagnose early and even harder to treat, with most cases resulting in a grave prognosis. Parents facing a DIPG diagnosis often feel lost and uncertain, as treatment options are limited. While surgery is generally not feasible due to the tumor's location, therapies such as radiation may provide temporary relief or slow progression. Emerging research is exploring the potential of experimental treatments, including targeted therapies and clinical trials that families can consider. These challenging circumstances underscore the importance of community support. Fundraising efforts and awareness campaigns can significantly ease the burden of medical expenses and provide emotional support to affected families. Helping to spread awareness about DIPG can also foster greater research funding, which is crucial in the ongoing fight against this devastating condition. Family and friends can play a vital role by sharing stories, raising funds, or simply offering a listening ear. Every gesture counts, no matter how small, in the battle against DIPG. Let’s stand together to support these young warriors and their families, ensuring they feel the love and strength of their community during this trying time.
