Encouraging other Christian’s

I’m reading in my Bible this morning in (Acts 1 and the verses 1:9-11) give me hope. I know Jesus is coming back idk when only God the Father knows. However, Christians are called to be watchful and keep oil in our lamps (Matthew 25:1-13) I commented on a TikTok post I got a bit excited as you can see. Someone I’m guessing a non believer in Jesus commented once and I responded then this gentlemen resorted to insults towards me calling me a clown not once but three times. And it brung this verse to mind “You are blessed when they insult you and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of me.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭11‬ ‭CSB‬‬

When you really love Jesus and you want to live a godly life style you can expect these types of reactions from people. I don’t know this person personally but God loves them and I love them it’s ok if he thinks that about me. We do look like clowns to an unbelievably world and it’s ok bc the next verse says “Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you. ”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭12‬ ‭CSB‬‬

Great is your reward in Heaven

Read moreThe passages in Acts 1:9-11 and the parable of the wise virgins in Matthew 25:1-13 emphasize the importance of spiritual preparedness and watchfulness among Christians as they await Jesus' second coming. Believers are reminded that while the exact timing is known only to God the Father, maintaining faithfulness through prayer, good works, and readiness is crucial. The theme of perseverance is deeply rooted in Scripture, encouraging Christians to uphold their faith even when faced with ridicule or persecution, as highlighted in Matthew 5:11-12. These verses reinforce that enduring insults for Christ’s sake is a blessing and will be rewarded greatly in heaven. Addressing opposition with love rather than bitterness reflects the heart of the Gospel and demonstrates maturity in one’s faith. This aligns with the biblical instruction to love one’s enemies and pray for those who persecute you (Matthew 5:44). The presence of spiritual gifts and guidance by the Holy Spirit, as hinted in Acts 1, empowers Christians to navigate trials and fulfill their God-given mission effectively. Furthermore, the concept of keeping 'oil in our lamps' symbolizes the need for ongoing spiritual nourishment and vigilance through study of Scripture and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The early church’s example of prayerful waiting and community support encourages modern believers to remain connected to other Christians for mutual encouragement and accountability. In a contemporary context, interactions on platforms like TikTok reflect real-world challenges where faith can provoke diverse reactions. Engaging with grace and perseverance, as the original article illustrates, exemplifies how believers can witness effectively even when misunderstood or insulted. Ultimately, this readiness and love in the face of adversity not only strengthens personal faith but also serves as a powerful testimony to others, fulfilling Christ’s call to be His witnesses to the ends of the earth.
