Self care is important. ⬇️ CAPTION ⬇️
I know, I know… the title doesn’t seem honest because I don’t have much of a self care routine myself. I’m working on it.
That being said…. Anyone have any tips? What can I do that’s not expensive and doesn’t require me to be outside the home for long periods? I’m a stay at home mom and I have anxiety about leaving the house without her daddy. I don’t do much self care and it’s really been hard on me. I want to change that. I’m just so used to constantly serving others that I don’t stop to serve myself.
Despite my “do as I say, not as I do” approach, self care is one of the MOST important things we can do. It helps us to not get overworked and helps us to unwind. While I work on myself, I invite you to work on your own self care.
Perhaps it’s reading, drawing, or listening to music. Maybe it’s exercise and meal prepping. Maybe it’s relaxing outside with a margarita or piña colada while your partner rubs your feet! Whatever it is, find your thing, and practice relaxing.

Self-care is often overlooked, especially for busy parents. It's crucial to understand that self-care doesn't need to be extravagant or time-consuming. Simple activities like taking a few quiet moments to sip your favorite tea or binge-watching that show you've been meaning to catch up on can be incredibly rejuvenating. Additionally, engaging in a hobby like drawing or playing an instrument can offer a sense of joy and personal fulfillment. Mindfulness and deep-breathing exercises can also be beneficial for anxiety management, helping you feel more grounded and present. Consider setting aside a few minutes each day for these practices—it can make a world of difference in your mood and well-being. Connecting with other mothers through community groups or online forums can provide you with support and inspiration as you embark on your self-care journey. Sharing experiences about mental health strategies and challenges can be incredibly comforting and offer new perspectives. Remember, nurturing yourself is not a luxury; it's a necessity for your overall health and happiness.

Just a walk in the park maybe, that helped me feel better, but if there aren’t any then invest in napping if someone gives you the chance I find it’s a real boost in my self care🎀
