Essentials for the tot 🌞
Hey y’all, back again participating in this challenge with toddler essentials! We went to Mexico last week for vacation and we spent a LOT of time outside by the beach & pool. Here are some things we wouldn’t have survived without (yes, I’m being dramatic):
- sensitive sunscreen (we prefer blue lizard, also the bottle changes color when you’re supposed to apply!!!)
- brimmed bucket hats to keep the sun away from her face
- long sleeve swim shirts and long swim shorts! We sized up and honestly found lots more in the boys section. Dinosaurs are for both genders anyway 😉
- swim diapers — so we actually DIDN’T end up using these the whole time. But they were definitely nice to give us peace of mind as we were walking to and from the pool. Remember though, they catch SOLIDS, NOT LIQUIDS.
That’s all for now 🌞 I’ll be posting more later!

When planning a beach trip with toddlers, having the right essentials can make all the difference. Every parent wants to ensure their child enjoys the sun safely while having tons of fun. One critical item is sensitive sunscreen, particularly brands like Blue Lizard that change color to remind you when to reapply. Brimmed bucket hats provide excellent protection for your child's face, keeping harmful UV rays at bay. In addition, choose long sleeve swim shirts and swim shorts, which not only shield their skin but also offer more comfort during playtime in the water. Sizing up can lead to better fitting options, especially for adventurous toddlers eager to explore. Don't forget about swim diapers. Although they may not be used all the time, having them on hand can reassure parents about making pool transitions easier. It’s important to remember that swim diapers are designed to capture solids and not liquids, ensuring confidence while enjoying the water. Overall, preparing for your beach adventure involves thoughtful planning and the right gear to keep your little ones safe and entertained. Remember to take plenty of breaks in the shade to avoid overheating and always stay hydrated. Happy beaching!
