Air fryer steak kebabs!
Hey y’all!! This evening I made delicious steak kebabs in my ninja air fryer! I’m so pumped because it was super easy and very tasty.
The marinate: olive oil, cumin, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and chile powder
I put zucchini, squash, onion, pineapple, and steak on the skewers and cooked at 400° for 10 min, flipping halfway through! They were delicious! I topped mine with sriracha mayo 🥰
Hey foodies! After making my awesome air fryer steak kebabs, I wanted to dive a little deeper into how you can get yours absolutely perfect every single time. While my basic recipe is a fantastic start, there are a few extra tips and tricks I've picked up that make all the difference, especially if you're aiming for that juicy, medium-rare perfection! First off, let's talk about cooking times for your air fryer steak kebabs. My 10-minute guide at 400°F is a great baseline, especially if your steak pieces are about 1-inch thick. However, the exact time can vary depending on your air fryer model, the thickness of your steak, and most importantly, your desired level of doneness. If you're like me and love a medium-rare steak kabob, you'll want to aim for an internal temperature of 130-135°F. This usually means cooking for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway. For medium, target 135-140°F (around 10-12 minutes), and for medium-well, 140-145°F (12-14 minutes). Always, always use a meat thermometer – it's your best friend for perfectly cooked steak and takes out all the guesswork! Next up, let's chat about kebab sticks themselves! You generally have two main choices: metal or wooden. Metal skewers are reusable and conduct heat, which can help cook the food from the inside out a bit more. If you're using wooden skewers, which are super convenient for cleanup, make sure to soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before threading your ingredients. This prevents them from burning in the air fryer. Regardless of the type, try not to overcrowd your skewers; leave a little space between each piece of steak and veggie so they cook evenly. Another game-changer for delicious steak skewers in your air fryer is how you prep your ingredients. Cutting your steak into uniform 1-inch cubes ensures everything cooks at the same rate. The same goes for your veggies – try to make them roughly the same size as your steak so nothing gets overcooked or undercooked. I used zucchini, squash, onion, and pineapple, but feel free to experiment! Bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, or mushrooms are also fantastic additions. And speaking of flavor, while my simple marinade is great, don't be afraid to get creative! A splash of soy sauce and ginger can give it an Asian twist, or lemon juice and herbs like rosemary and thyme for a Mediterranean vibe. Letting your steak marinate for at least 30 minutes, or even a few hours, will infuse so much more flavor and help tenderize the meat. Finally, a couple more crucial tips for air fryer success: always preheat your air fryer to the desired temperature. This helps create that lovely sear. Also, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Cook your steak kabob batches if necessary, allowing enough space for the hot air to circulate freely around each piece. This is key for even cooking and that beautiful crispy texture. And once your kebabs are done, let them rest for 5 minutes off the skewer before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and flavorful bite. Trust me, these extra steps will elevate your air fryer steak kebabs from great to absolutely unforgettable!
