The sweet notes that Grace society
Yesterday, I took a wandering walk in my neighborhood. At the end of our street stands a colorful “free little library”. As I walked closer, I noticed a note that graced the glass, “You can’t focus on reading on an empty belly, take what you need - love your neighbor.” Then, I opened the little doors and noticed canned/ boxed food.
As I stood there and read the note, the wind rushed through the trees that bordered the street. It felt as if God’s presence passed me on the street as I focused in on the black permanent marker words, “love your neighbor.”
Those fine bold words God has commanded graces society with “canned” goodness that opens and pours over neighbors, over seas and into continents.
So, today leave your little bold mark on your small community because it will touch others with a permanent marker tip of Christ’s love. God’s “pantry-filled” command will be passed down the neighborhood lineage and into the world.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31
