😓😓 Friday exhausted #silks #aerialsilks
Wow, what a Friday! You know that feeling when you push your body to its limits, and then some, but you still have a huge smile on your face? That’s exactly how I feel after my aerial silks session today. My muscles are screaming, every fiber in my body is protesting, but honestly, it’s the best kind of exhaustion. For anyone curious about aerial silks, let me tell you, it's not just a workout; it's an art form and a mental challenge all rolled into one. Each week, I look forward to my Friday class – it's my way of literally flying into the weekend! Today, we were working on a new drop sequence, and let’s just say gravity was not my friend at first. But after a few attempts, feeling the fabric glide and finally nailing that move? Pure magic! The concentration it takes to hold certain poses, to transition smoothly, and to trust the silks beneath you is immense. It truly forces you to be present in the moment, forgetting all the stresses of the week. It’s a unique blend of strength, grace, and trust in both yourself and the apparatus. Of course, with great aerial feats comes great muscle soreness! I’ve learned a few tricks over time to help with recovery. Immediately after class, I make sure to stretch properly. Dynamic stretching before, static stretching after – it makes a huge difference. Then, it's all about hydration and nutrition. A good protein shake, some magnesium, and plenty of water are my go-tos. Sometimes, a warm bath with Epsom salts feels like heaven for those aching shoulders and core. I’ve even started using my CapCut app to make short videos of my progress, which is a fantastic way to review my form and see how far I’ve come. It’s super motivating to watch back those challenging moments and see the improvement. Plus, it’s a fun way to share my aerial journey with friends! It’s not always easy. There are days when I feel clumsy, or when a move just won't click. But the aerial silks community is so supportive. We cheer each other on, offer tips, and celebrate every small victory. That camaraderie adds another layer of joy to the experience. This discipline has taught me so much about perseverance and patience. Every time I get frustrated, I remind myself that even the most graceful aerialists started somewhere. The mental strength you build is just as important as the physical. Even when I’m utterly exhausted like today, I know I’m building strength, flexibility, and confidence. It’s a journey, not a destination, and every Friday, I get to write another chapter in my aerial silks story. If you're looking for an exhilarating way to challenge yourself, both physically and mentally, and want to join a truly inspiring community, I highly recommend giving aerial silks a try. Just be prepared for the amazing, rewarding exhaustion that follows! You might just find your new passion.
